Steven Thomas is Certrec’s Information Technology Manager. His curiosity of electronics and love of computers began while tinkering with an old IBM 5150 sitting at his parents’ house in the mid-1980’s.
Steven received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and his MBA, with an emphasis in Finance, from Oklahoma City University.
His professional career began at Dell computers in 2006, and after a couple years with Morgan Stanley, he joined the management team at Certrec in 2010. Since his employment began, he has been continually pushing improving the look, functionality, and reliability of Certrec’s web-based tools. During his time at Certrec, several products have been completely rewritten. He has also overseen the implementation of multiple layers of redundancy and security upgrades. He is a major contributor to Certrec’s new ISO 27001:2013 certification, as well as the older ISO 27001:2005 certification. He also likes to randomly contribute to open source projects – python being his development language of choice.
When Steven isn’t working on items for Certrec he enjoys spending time with his family, gaming, and learning more about computers and programs. Reverse engineering and vulnerability testing are topics that really pique his interest.
