Brian Chustz is a Senior Project Manager in Certrec’s Office of NERC Compliance Services where he brings more than 35 years of experience in the areas of NERC, root cause analysis, plant engineering, project management, outage management, maintenance management, and corrective action programs. Before joining Certrec, Brian was a Senior Staff Engineer at Entergy where he served as PowerGen root cause analysis program coordinator. He was responsible for facilitating root cause investigations on high-impact plant events and NERC/CIP noncompliance events, facilitating risk-informing outage and new plant build decision processes, and facilitating plant- and corporate-level NERC compliance support. He developed several mitigation plans to allow closure of NERC compliance issues through his facilitation of root cause determinations and NERC compliance supporting roles.
Brian originally served as a Project Engineer at River Bend Station during construction. During his 14 years of service at River Bend, he performed in several job capacities, including: maintenance engineer, maintenance supervisor, LLRT coordinator, and Motor Operated Valve program coordinator.
Following a transfer to Entergy’s fossil division, Brian held a variety of positions: Senior Plant Engineer, Process Superintendent, Process Owner, and Senior Staff Engineer.
Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University and has held several Test Engineer Certifications.
When not working, Brian spends his time helping with grandchildren and traveling with his family.
