Murphy Clark, a Senior Engineer with Certrec’s Office of NERC Compliance Services Team, has more than 30 years of experience in power plant operations. During Murphy’s seven years of service in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear electrical operator, he participated in construction testing and pre-commissioning activities for electrical generation plants aboard nuclear-powered surface ships. In addition, he supervised routine electrical power plant operations and maintenance. After his service in the Navy, Murphy worked in power plant operations for several manufacturing companies where he gained experience in the operation of gas turbine and fossil fuel power plants.
Murphy retired from Entergy’s River Bend Station with 25 years of nuclear operational experience, including initial NRC Senior Reactor Operator licensing, initial fueling and start-up activities, and seven years as an operations shift manager. While at River Bend Station, Murphy worked in the Nuclear Safety Assessment Group and operations training. After retirement, Murphy provided service as a contractor to Entergy’s River Bend Station in the operations procedure and simulator/classroom training groups.
As a part-time project manager with Certrec, Murphy works in the NERC Services area to support clients for routine and audit compliance activities.
