Steve Snider, a Senior Project Manager in Certrec’s Office of NERC Compliance Services, brings his expertise to the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) area. His more than 40 years of experience in the areas of information technology, cybersecurity, training, network and SAN administration, and the operation and administration of multiple manufacturers’ mainframes, servers, and workstations enhances Certrec’s capability to support clients’ CIP needs.
Steve received his bachelor’s degree in Information Technologies with a concentration in networking and telecommunications, and he holds several specialized certifications. His IT career began while serving in the U.S. Air Force as a Communications Computer Specialist where he worked in communications centers, managed systems connected to a world-wide network, and set up battlefield communications networks while continuing to learn multiple programming languages. After leaving active duty, he worked with the Louisiana Air National Guard in the areas of IT Networking and Systems Management and was hired by the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation.
During his 25 years with the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation, Steve was responsible for providing work direction, training, and supervision of daily operations in his roles as a Network Engineer, a Systems Administrator, and an Operations Supervisor. He was responsible for many successful projects, including introducing virtualization, building their Disaster Recovery site, building their infrastructure convergence, and building their wireless network, to name a few.
