Steven Thomas is Certrec’s Information Technology Director. His curiosity about electronics and love of computers began in the mid-1980s while he tinkered with an old IBM 5150 at his parents’ house.
Steven received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and his MBA, with an emphasis in Finance, from Oklahoma City University.
His professional career began at Dell computers in 2006, followed by a couple years with Morgan Stanley. He joined the management team at Certrec in 2010. Since then, he has worked continuously to improve the look, functionality, and reliability of Certrec’s web-based tools.
Under Steven's direction, all Certrec web-based products have been completely rewritten and improved upon. He has also overseen the implementation of multiple layers of redundancy and security upgrades. He has been a major contributor to Certrec’s new ISO 27001:2013 certification, as well as the older ISO 27001:2005 certification.
When Steven isn’t working on projects for Certrec, he likes to contribute to open-source projects with Python being his development language of choice. Reverse engineering and vulnerability testing are topics that really pique his interest. He also enjoys spending time with his family, gaming, and learning more about computers and programs.
