The energy industry is undergoing tremendous growth. Renewable energy alone is expected to grow by 2,400 gigawatts in power capacity over the 2022-2027 period. This is an amount equal to the entire power capacity of China today. As the energy sector continues to grow, there are multiple factors leading to this explosion in growth. A few of these drivers include increasing demand for energy, changing government policies, advancements in technology, and environmental concerns.
Last month, we asked our audience: what do you think is the primary factor driving the growth in the energy industry? Overall, 37 percent voted for an increasing demand for energy, while another 37 percent voted government incentives/policies, and 16 percent voted environmental concerns. Advancements in technology, at 10 percent, was voted least.
