Regulatory Compliance Expert Certrec hosts 2017 NERC Compliance Workshop in Fort Worth

Certrec’s Office of NERC Compliance hosts workshop tailored to address needs of GO/GOP operations personnel.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) May 16, 2017 — Certrec, a leading NERC regulatory compliance service provider, is pleased to announce their NERC compliance workshop held May ninth and tenth in Fort Worth.

Attendees consisted of generator owner/operators from 6 of the 8 NERC regions representing wind, solar, gas, hydro, and coal assets.

“Certrec’s NERC compliance workshop presented focused guidance on NERC standards as well as upcoming changes as they relate to our facilities. This streamlines our NERC compliance efforts. The opportunity to network with industry peers was also beneficial,” Certrec client.

The workshop provided an update on CIP as well as facility ratings guidance as they pertain to GO/GOP registered entities. Three regional representatives presented their regulatory perspectives on the latest relevant standards, the risk-based approach to compliance, and standards development. Guest presenters discussed cyber security, GMD, and human performance. Certrec’s NERC team provided guidance on best practices.

“We are very pleased at the growth in our conference as we strive to provide more relevant and current compliance information to our clients,” stated Ted Enos, Certrec CEO.

“A proven NERC compliance program can provide significant savings in time and money,” said Bob Biggs, Certrec Director. “The entity with a proven, robust NERC compliance program enjoys less oversight – fewer audits, often with reduced scope as compared to the entity that historically has compliance challenges.”
