NERC Regulatory Compliance Expert Brian Chustz Join Certrec’s Office of NERC Compliance Team

Certrec, a leading regulatory compliance provider for NERC and FERC compliance, announced today that Brian Chustz has joined its Office of NERC Compliance (ONC) practice as a Senior Project Manager.

FORT WORTH, Texas (PRWEB) October 16, 2018 — Certrec, a leading regulatory compliance provider for NERC and FERC compliance, announced today that Brian Chustz has joined its Office of NERC Compliance (ONC) practice as a Senior Project Manager.

Office of NERC Compliance Services Director Bob Biggs said, “Brian brings a deep understanding of power plant engineering and maintenance to the Office of NERC Compliance. In addition to his technical experience, Brian is very knowledgeable of NERC Standards enforcement processes as applied to Generator Owners and Operators (GO/GOP).”

Mr. Chustz has more than three decades of experience in the areas of NERC, root cause analysis, and corrective action. In the past, he was responsible for facilitating root cause determinations for a large fossil fleet, facilitating risk-informing outage and new plant build decision processes, and facilitating plant- and corporate level NERC compliance support. Mr. Chustz has developed several mitigation plans to allow closure of NERC compliance issues through his facilitation of root cause determinations and NERC compliance supporting roles. “I look forward to adding my expertise to the Certrec team,” Chustz said. “Providing regulatory support and expertise to our clients complements their ability to navigate and comply with the host of regulatory requirements challenging the power generators.

“We are very happy Brian has decided to join the Certrec team,” Biggs said. “He brings with him more than 35 years of industry experience that will add great value to our company. We look forward to all that he will help us accomplish.”

Mr. Chustz joins a team whose philosophy is conservative when approaching NERC compliance. One size does not fit all in our industry. A “standardized” approach to NERC compliance, using a software application or cookie-cutter templates, does not result in successful NERC compliance programs. We believe NERC compliance must be “baked in” not “bolted on” to an organization. With a variety of specializations, our team is better able to help our clients achieve their goals.

With Certrec, your NERC work is done once and done right.

Certrec offers support from highly skilled, experienced, industry professionals who possess degrees in a variety of engineering disciplines (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Nuclear). Additionally, Certrec’s staff has multiple degreed personnel in physics, communications, business, and information technology. This accomplished team

has direct working experience in all regulatory areas of licensing, compliance, and engineering, including nuclear, fossil, and renewable generation and transmission.

For 30 years, Certrec has applied the accumulated hundreds of years of staff industry experience toward helping its clients develop and manage solutions to complex regulatory issues. Combining this direct industry experience with Certrec’s Information Technology assets has led to the development of technology-based solutions and tools directly targeted to the electric power industry and specifically focused on helping clients manage regulatory issues. We believe this approach is the key to our successful client programs as well as our growing NERC practice.

Certrec’s quality program and information security management system are ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified. Also, Certrec successfully completed a Type 2 SOC 2 examination where the scope of Document Management and Regulatory Services was examined against the Trust Services principles of Security, Availability, and Confidentiality. Certrec is committed to undergoing similar required annual examinations and audits to maintain or exceed current levels of service.
