ASME Code Expert Al Meichler Joins Certrec’s Office of Licensing and Compliance Team

38 Year Nuclear Industry Veteran to Assist Certrec Nuclear Clients with ASME Code Issues

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) May 06, 2015 — Certrec, a leading licensing and regulatory compliance service provider that supports NRC and NERC compliance, announced today that Al Meichler, a noted American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code expert has joined its Office of Licensing and Compliance as a Project Manager.

“We are excited to have Al join the Certrec team,” says Ted Enos, President of Certrec. “Al is known throughout the nuclear community for his broad industry knowledge, and his expertise in ASME Code Issues. Al has recently retired from Southern California Edison, where he managed the Codes and Welding Group and was responsible for compliance with the ASME Section XI (Mechanical Code for Nuclear Power Plants), ASME IX (Welding Code), Inservice Inspection (ISI) Program and the plant’s welding program. In addition, he is a member of the ASME Code Committee and has participated on the California Advisory Board for Boiler and Pressure Vessel Rules.” “He joins us at a critical time in the nuclear industry,” continues Enos. “Many licensees are being challenged with the loss of corporate knowledge with the retirement of senior personnel which can affect a plant’s ability to address complex ASME Code questions in a timely manner.” “As an active participant in ASME Code Meetings, and his service performing Committee assignments, such as a Task Group Leader, Al is up to speed on the critical ASME Code issues.”

“Certrec is an industry leader in the licensing and compliance areas and I am impressed with their people, expertise and professionalism,” says Meichler. “I am proud to join the Certrec Team and look forward to assisting clients with ASME Code issues.”

“I am excited to be a part of this solid company,” stated Meichler, “as I believe the industry continues to face challenges related to the retirement of experienced personnel and will benefit from the ASME Code services that Certrec can provide.”
